Dark circles can result from lack of sleep dehydration, stress, vitamin deficiency or genetics. Dark circles can mess up someone's appearance, and most women prefer to use concealers to cover up the unattractive look. But men barely have an option. Why hide them when you can get rid of them?
Before you reached for OTC products check your kitchen first. Below are home remedies that can be used to treat this problem;
- Tea bags: it has been proven to reduce dark circles without any side effects. Put two tea bags in a cup of hot water for five minutes; squeeze the bags to remove liquid; place in a refrigerator or cool water for about 10-15 minutes; lie down and place the chilled bags on eyes,leave on for 10mins; rinse face with cool water; repeat 2-3 times daily.
- Coconut oil: it is a gentle inflammatory, it is an effective method of lightening dark circles. Rub oil onto your under eye area; leave on overnight and rinse off in the morning.
- Cucumber: it has skin lightening properties. Chop a fresh cucumber into two thick slices and refrigerate for 30mins; leave on eyes for 10mins; rinse eye area with lukewarm after using.
- 8 hours of sleep: Nothing refreshes someone like a full 8 hours of sleep. Getting a good night rest reduces dark circles and eyebags.
Regular use will not only reduce dark circles but will also give you a more youthful look. As they say, “Beauty is in the eyes of the beholder”.
